Based in the Netherlands, Camiel Vanderhoeven is a relative newcomer to OpenVMS. Introduced to the operating system as old as he is in 2003, he is now a certifiable OpenVMS bigot and collector of PDP, VAX and Alpha hardware. Camiel has a passion for software development, and is the lead architect and developer for the FreeAXP, Avanti and Arana Alpha emulators from Migration Specialties. His official job title is "hardware illusionist". Previously, Camiel developed the only open-source Alpha emulator capable of running OpenVMS on a laptop. Camiel is married to Martha, they have five and two year old sons, Ties and Sipke, who like toggling buttons in daddy's chicken-shed-computer-museum.
